Bakersfield One of "Most Fun Cities" in U.S.

WalletHub is out with its list of Most Fun Cities in the U.S. In its survey of 182 cities nationwide, Bakersfield ranked 96th.

What makes Bakersfield a fun city, according to WalletHub? The survey defined a fun city as one that offers a little bit of everything for everyone — except maybe people seeking the most extreme thrills. In a city with enough variety, you won’t have to compromise with your friends, family, or even yourself about the next fun activity to do alone or together.”

The cost of fun is important. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American spends more than $3,400 on entertainment per year, so Bakersfield’s low-cost ranking means those fun dollars go further here. When compared to other California cities, Bakersfield scored the best when it comes to the cost of fun. For nightlife and parties, Bakersfield ranked 90th, and 119th in Recreation and Entertainment.
