8th Annual Charity Farmers Market
July 15, 2023 | 8:00 AM –12:00 PM
Overview
The Kern County Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R), a non-profit group with the Kern County Farm Bureau, is once again hosting their Annual Charity Farmers Market this summer!
There is so much great produce grown in Kern County and surrounding areas that should be enjoyed by all. At this event, people can get fresh produce and other local goods in exchange for donations and walk away with a completed shopping list.
What will there be at this event? Last year customers took home strawberries, watermelons, grapes, carrots, pistachios, almonds, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, squash, honey and so much more.
Monetary donations raised from this event will go towards further establishing a school garden at the Kern Resource Center. Students in grades K-12 can participate in a farm-to-table program where they can learn about all facets of gardening as well as how to prepare the food they grow. Remaining funds will go towards future projects like College Ag and 4-H/FFA Scholarships, industry tours, and Ag outreach.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 8:00am to 12:00pm in the Chuy’s parking lot at 8660 Rosedale Highway. Additional information can be found on the group’s Instagram @kern_yfr or Facebook Page, “Kern County Young Farmers and Ranchers”.
